The National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) has held a Public Hearing aimed at receiving contributions, subsidies and suggestions for improving technical documents and legal issues relating to the holding of a bidding process relating to the leasing of the VDC04 port terminal, located in the Port of Vila do Conde (PA).

With an anticipated investment of BRL 13 million (US$ 2.5 million), the lease agreement for the area is characterized by its simplicity, entailing a 10-year contract without the option of extension. VDC04, spanning 32.35,000 m², is designated for the handling and storage of bulk solid minerals, particularly fertilizers. The terminal holds significant logistical importance for the North region, given its strategic location at the exit of Arco Norte. In total, the public hearing garnered nine registrations, with eight participants contributing orally during the hearing. The deadline for submitting contributions was extended from April 4th to April 10th, 2024.
