ANE to grant five road projects to private sector

The National Roads Administration (ANE) in Mozambique is set to grant five national roads to the national or foreign private partner. The ANE will seek maintenance and quality improvement of the roads from the private sector.

The road concessions include the following roads:

  • 185-kilometer stretch of National Road One, between Marracuene, in Maputo province and Xai-Xai, the capital region of Gaza;
  • 69.5-kilometer road of National Road two in Matola - Boane - Namaacha section, in Maputo province;
  • 31-kilometer road of National Road three connecting Impaputo and Goba in Maputo province;
  • A road connecting Nampula - Namialo - Lúrio - Metoro on National Road One;
  • 415-kilometer long road connecting Nacala - Namialo on National road number twelve. 

The highways may be concessioned for up to 30 years.

ANE has started the tendering process for all of five roads.
