AMP Capital has announced the acquisition of several electric bus projects and concessions from Enel X by AMP Capital in Chile and Colombia on behalf of investors in its infrastructure equity strategy.
AMP Capital will acquire Enel X’s 20% interest in the Chilean joint venture, with was formed by companies in 2020. The projects involve the provision of a certain fleet of electric buses and charging infrastructure in the Red Metropolitana de Movilidad public transport system in Santiago, Chile, and the TransMilenio bus rapid transit system in Bogotá, Colombia. The investment will expand AMP Capital's e-mobility platform by providing the largest private fleet of transit electric buses in the Americas.
AMP Capital's investment also supports the decarbonization of public transport and the reduction of urban air pollution in the Americas.
