Altice to sell its Portuguese optical fiber network arm

Altice to sell 40 to 49% minority stake in the Portuguese optical fiber network arm. The sell will help Altice Europe to reduce the debt in second quarter of 2019.

The company manages an optical fiber network that serves 4.8 million homes in Portugal, which is expected to grow to 5.3 million in 2020. Altice Portugal is also investing 3 to 4 new project to acquire a diversified portfolio, the company is also actively expanding in digital services with 40% capital in mobile networks.

Two investors have shown interest in the stakes. Altice has also incurred inquiries from various new investors with interesting proposals.
