Alpha Real Capital launches Wind Renewables Income Fund

Alpha Real Capital has launched a new fund that focuses on medium size wind energy investments. The Wind Renewables Income Fund (WRIF) will predominantly invest in sub 5 MW onshore wind assets in UK  with a target size of £150-200 million (US$253.1 million) in equity. During the first close of the Fund, it has secured an investment totalling GBP100 million (US$126.56 million) from two investors - Towers Watson Secure Income Fund, a multi-manager fund managed exclusively for UK pension funds, and the Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank Pension Scheme.

WRIF has recently acquired two portfolios consisting of four operating assets with a total value in excess of GBP11 million (US$13.92 million).

WRIF is part of Alpha’s renewables platform and Alpha’s wider stable of CDI assets including UK ground rents, long lease property and social long income.
