The Alpenglow Railway, in partnership with Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure, has announced its acquisition of a newly constructed rail terminal in Orange, Texas from LJA Investments, a subsidiary of LJA Engineering.
The transaction involves Orange Rail becoming part of Alpenglow and CC&L’s rail switching, railcar storage, transloading and railcar cleaning businesses in the USA and Canada. The addition of Orange Rail to Alpenglow's USA Rail portfolio provides the company's clients with the ability to execute a single agreement with USA Rail while handling their rail needs across multiple terminals and markets. The Orange Rail's terminal, being built by LJA Engineering and located between Beaumont, Texas and Lake Charles, will be able to handle unit trains, store more than 1.200 railcars, provide truck-to-rail or rail-to-truck transloading services, and offer railcar-cleaning and repair to customers.
The Orange Rail is served by Union Pacific and BNSF and is situated on 130 ac and offers a loop track capable of handling 120-car unit trains and provides approximately 600 railcar storage spots.
