The Aloha Stadium Authority has changed the contract plan for the development of the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED) in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
The new agreement will encompass the entire lifecycle of the stadium, including its design, construction, operation, and maintenance. A single developer will spearhead the development of the 25,000-seat stadium, utilizing both public and private funding. Previously, the project was divided into two separate contracts—one for the stadium construction and another for the surrounding real estate. The selected contractor will first demolish the existing stadium, and then proceed with the design and construction of the new stadium.
The chosen developer will also have the opportunity to construct mixed-use developments in close proximity to the stadium, generating revenue to offset construction, operation, and maintenance expenses.
