Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy in Albania has awarded Voltalia the contract for the construction and operation of a 100 MW solar plant. Located in the area of Spitallë, in the coastal municipality of Durrës in the west of the country, the plant will diversify energy supply and increase energy security while delivering climate-neutral energy at an affordable price.
Voltalia bid EUR 29.89 (US$ 35.08) per MWh for the project. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided technical assistance to the authority.
