ARTESP has selected the winning bids for the concession of 22 regional airports currently managed by the Government of State of São Paulo in Brazil.
The Noroeste lot, which consists of 11 airports headed by São José do Rio Preto, was awarded to the Consortium Aeroportos Paulista with the bid of BRL7.6 million (US$1.48 million). The team is formed by Socicam Infraestrutura e Participações LTDA and Dix Empreendimentos LTDA. The second lot, Sudeste, includes another 11 airports, one of which is Ribeirão Preto, and was awarded to the Voa NW and Voa SE Consortium, based on the proposal of BRL14.7 million (US$2.87 million). The consortium is formed by Terracom Concessões e Participações LTDA, Nova Ubatuba Empreendimentos e Participações LTDA, MPE Engenharia e Serviços SA and Estrutural Concessões de Rodovias LTDA.
The consortiums will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, exploration and expansion of the state airport infrastructure. The contract has a concession period of 30 years for operation and provides a tariff and non-tariff model of reward through the use of additional income, such as hangar rent or commercial activities in the terminal, restaurants and parking, or through investment in real estate exploration.
