The Chairwoman of Kansas City Council's Airport Committee has announced that the airlines that operate at Kansas City International Airport have reached an agreement regarding the funding of the new terminal, to be delivered through a public-private partnership by a consortium led by Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate.
The City Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Edgemoor team in February 2018, but the parties have been unable to progress to a Final Development Agreement due to continuing negotiations between the airlines as to how to split costs.
Details of the agreement will be revealed today during an Airport Committee meeting. It will then have to be approved by the City Council, expected "soon" according to the Chairwoman's statement.
