The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) of the Philippines has announced that AirAsia Group has purchased the tender documents for the 25-year operations and maintenance (O&M) PPP contract for Clark International Airport, located in Angeles City, Pampanga province.

The Malaysian airline is the ninth company or consortia to purchase bidding documents, which are due to be submitted on 4 September 2018. When published in May this year, the submission deadline was 20 July. BCDA has pushed this back following requests by the prospective bidders.

AirAsia potentially faces competition from Filipino corporations San Miguel, Metro Pacific Investments, Megawide Construction and Filinvest Development, as well as France's Groupe ADP and India’s GVK Airport Developers.
