Canadian Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has increased the stakes acquired in Galvão Participações' 20% interest in the water and sanitation company Iguá Saneamento.
With this deal, AIMCo will now hold 49.2% of Iguá through an investment fund administered by local private equity firm IG4 Capital.
Iguá Saneamento operates in the management and operation of water supply and sewage systems, as well as in the management of customers of these services. Currently, the company is present in five Brazilian states (São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Alagoas), through 18 operations, which, together, serve, directly or indirectly, about 6.6 million people.
