Skanska has signed an agreement with Akademiska Hus to build new premises for the Faculty of Arts at the University of Gothenburg in Vastra Gotaland, Sweden.
The contract was valued at around SEK1.2 billion (US$118 million). The project also includes the renovation of a healthcare facility in New York for US$52 million.
Skanska will build two new buildings with a total area of 35,000 sq m, aiming for gold certification from the Sweden Green Building Council’s Miljöbyggnad rating scheme, and silver for the renovation which covers approximately 11,000 sq m.
Construction is planned to start in January 2023 and is expected to finish in stages from May 2025 to 2027.
