African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a EUR39.62 million (US$40.28 million) loan package to the Government of Cameroon for the improvement of road access in Industrial areas and Port areas of Kribi, Cameroon.
The funding will be utilized in the implementation of the second phase of the Kribi Industrial and Port Area Access Roads Development Project. This loan package will complement AfDB's EUR114.33 million (US$116.25 million) loan approved in October 2021 for the first phase of the project. The access roads are expected to increase the accessibility of the Kribi Industrial and Port Complex, reduce transportation times and improve the livelihood of nearby communities.
This loan will complement funding for rehabilitation works on the 110-km road connecting Edea to Kribi, as well as the development of 39 km of additional road between the Lolabé à Campo community and the bridge over the Ntem River located near the border with Equatorial Guinea.
