The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has declared Afcons Infrastructure as the lowest bidder for the civil construction work of Kochi Metro’s Phase 2 (Pink Line) project under Package KBC3 in Kochi, Kerala, India.

Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro will introduce an 11.2 km elevated line, comprising 11 stations linking JLN Stadium, Kakkanad, and Infopark (Smart City). Package KBC3's scope entails constructing the viaduct for Phase 2 and 10 new stations spanning from Palarivattom Junction to Infopark. The construction of entry/exit buildings and architectural finishing will be handled separately. The project involves designing and building elevated viaducts and stations, excluding architectural details, building services, link bridges, and entry-exit structures from JLN Stadium to Infopark as part of Phase II of the Kochi Metro Rail Project. The stations along the Pink Line will be situated at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Palarivattom Junction, Alinchuvadu (formerly Palarivattom Bypass), Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal (formerly Kunnumpuram), Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittethukara, KINFRA Park (formerly Rajagiri), and InfoPark/Smart City (connected to Kochi Water Metro).

In September 2023, KMRL invited bids for construction, with the project having an unspecified estimate and a strict completion deadline of 600 days. While unconfirmed, reports are indicating that Afcons submitted a bid of INR 21.3 billion (US$ 256.4 million).
