The President of the Republic has announced the advance in the works of expansion of the President Ibáñez Airport in Punta Arenas, Chile.
Currently, two significant projects are underway at the Presidente Ibáñez Airport: the development of an alternative runway and the construction of a new building for the Rescue and Firefighting Service (SSEI), which stands as the most iconic part of the project. By 2030, the airport's surface area will be tripled, featuring five boarding bridges, a new cargo terminal, enhanced parking facilities, improved access routes, and an investment of approximately US$150 million. These improvements will bring significant economic and investment benefits to the region's main airport.
