Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the economic development arm of the UAE government, has signed an agreement with the Government of Rwanda to finance the Rambura – Nyange section of the Rubengera- Muhanga road project. The concessionary loan is valued at US$15 million.

The road rehabilitation project covers 61 kilometers, connecting the country’s Southern and Western Provinces. The scope of works includes road repairs, expanding the width of the road from 6 meters to 7.5 meters, adding shoulders and rebuilding water drains.

ADFD provides a loan for a 22-km road section between the towns of Rambura and Nyange. The financed road project will support Rwanda government’s strategic transportation infrastructure development program.
