Abertis has reached financial close for its Interconexión Vial Santiago-Valparaíso-Viña del Mar, Route 68 road project in Chile.
The project involves the development of a 141.3 km road interconnection that connects the Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions of the country. It comprises 109.6 km of Route 68; 21.0 km from Route 62 (Troncal Sur) and 10.7 km from Route 60-CH (Vía Las Palmas). It includes four tunnels, 16 bridges, 22 junctions, and fourteen crossings.
The infrastructure project is an agreement with Concesionaria Rutas del Pacífico SA, composed of Vías Chile SA, a unit of Abertis, Grupo ACS, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and the Government of Chile. The 25-year concession period expires in September 2024.
The US$227.1 million financing for the project was granted by Banco de Credito e Inversiones (Bci) and Scotiabank Chile. Morales & Besa advised financial institutions, while Barros & Errázuriz Abogados represented the group's subsidiaries as creditors.
