Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the expansion of Kolhapur Airport in India.
The project involves the construction of a new terminal building, strengthening of existing runway, extension of runway, construction of new apron and isolation bay. The new terminal building, constructed in an area of 4000 sq. m, will be able to process 300 passengers during peak hours.
More than 60% of the work for extension of terminal building is completed. The terminal is expected to be compleyed by March 31, 2023. The upgrade of the airside facilities is completed. Additionally, a new Air Traffic Control Tower is also being constructed to facilitate the future growth in traffic. The expansion also includes a parking area with capacity for 110 car, 10 buses.
