Nine international companies or joint ventures have have been prequalified for the development of two desalination plants in the Al Batinah region of Oman, in response to the RFQ issued by Oman Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (OPWP). The desalination plants are located in Barka and North Al Batinah with a production capacity of 100,000 m3 per day and 150,000 m3 per day respectively.
The nine prequalified companies are International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power); Cobra Instalaciones Y Servicio SA; China Geo-Engineering Corporation Branch, Al Fairuz Trading & Contracting Co and Hyflux; International Power SA (IPSA);GS Inima Environment SA; SUEZ International; Valoriza Agua SL;Veolia Middle East, and; UTICO FZC, FCC Aqualia, SA, and Majis Industrial Service SAOC.
