The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) in Paraguay has announced 81% progress for the Quiindy - San Juan Bautista section on National Route PY01.

The progress includes 50% completion of cold asphalt micro-surfacing, 65% of asphalt layering with polymer, 83% of deep and superficial patching and 60% completion of the placement of conventional asphalt concrete layers with a black base on the roadway and shoulders. Additionally, the recycling of shoulders was completed at 52%, while the movement of the structural package of shoulders and other elements of the road has already been completed fully.

The project involves the rehabilitation and maintenance work of 85.4 km between the departments of Paraguarí and Misiones, which is done under the Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Highways by Service Levels (CREMA) modality, meaning the rehabilitation followed by its maintenance for a period of 60 months. It is estimated that the project will directly benefit about 50,000 inhabitants in the areas of Quiindy, Caapucú, Villa Florida, San Miguel and San Juan Bautista.

The total investment of the project amounts to US$23.3 million. CONTEC consortium, comprising Concret Mix and Tecnoedil, is in charge of the rehabilitation works, under the supervision of the Route 1 Crema Consortium, made up of CIA and INGENEG.
