The Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP) has completed 75% of the construction works related to the highway connecting Quinindé to Las Golondrinas in Ecuador.
The 33.8 km long highway provides a connection between the provinces of Esmeraldas and Imbabura. The highway is being improved with an investment of US$41 million. Currently, the works related to the placement of sewers and replacement of poor-quality soil and asphalt pavement are in progress. Once complete, it will improve service levels and road safety, boost the local economy as well as benefit more than 1 million users.
