The Ministry of Public works and Communications in Paraguay has announced that Bella Vista Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) has reached 73.2% completion. The construction works for buildings housing pumping station, thick bars in the wastewater processing sector, sewage effluents, and the electrical power substation are now underway.
Developed on an area of 8,100 square meters in Bañado Norte, the plant will have initial capacity to process 2 cubic meters of wastewater per second, which will be increased to 4.4 cubic meters per second during second phase of the project. Acciona is responsible for the project development. The estimated investment value for the project is PYG10.5 billion (US$15.03 million).
The WWTP is part of three newly built plants included in the sanitation program for the Asunción Bay. It will benefit 1,200,000 people residing in the capital's neighborhoods, Fernando de la Mora, and Luque.
