Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced that all 5G infrastructure projects have secured financial closure, with a total investment of COP 89 trillion (USD 22 billion).
These projects are:
Magdalena Trunk Lines 1 and 2 are key to connecting the country's interior with the Caribbean Coast and consolidating the Ruta del Sol 3 project, Colombia's most important freight corridor. The Magdalena Trunk 1 project, which includes 259.6 km between Puerto Salgar (Cundinamarca) and Barrancabermeja (Santander), obtained an agreement for US$2.3 billion. Meanwhile, the Magdalena Trunk 2, the Sabana de Torres (Santander) – Curumaní (Cesar) highway corridor, obtained financing worth US$2 billion.
The Northern Access Project Phase II has accredited financial closure for a value of US$700 billion, which ensures the financing of the expansion works on the Northern Highway between Street 192 and 245, Carrera Séptima between Street 201 and 245 and the Sopó Perimetral.
The Western Longitudinal Avenue Road Project, Southern Section “ALO Sur”, includes interventions on 24.5 km of road between Chusacá (Soacha) and Calle 13, in Fontibón. It obtained financing for US$940 billion.
The New Road Network of Valle del Cauca - Cali-Palmira Accesses, includes the construction, improvement and rehabilitation of 310 km of the road that will connect Buga, in Valle del Cauca, with Santander de Quilichao, in Cauca, its progress is 10.89%. This project obtained its financial closure with financing of US$1.5 billion.
The New Road Network of Valle del Cauca, Buenaventura – Loboguerrero – Buga corridor, recently accredited financial closure for US$976 billion for the reference month, equivalent to US$1.3 trillion in current currency, which led to the start of the construction phase on August 16, 2024. This project has a length of 128 km and seeks to improve mobility from the port area of Buenaventura, one of the main logistics corridors for international trade, and connectivity with the interior of the country.
