The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) and the Covioriente concession have agreed to carry out construction works in the populated areas of the Villavicencio – Yopal project between July and September 2024.
These works include the construction of platforms, pedestrian bridges, lighting and a roundabout in the La Vara sector in Villanueva. The total project has an investment of US$3.4 billion and has a length of 266 km that connects Villavicencio with Yopal. The first section includes about 15.5 km of dual carriageway between Villavicencio - Cumaral and around 25.7 km in the Aguazul - Yopal section, for a total of 41 km. The corridor is divided into seven functional units, one of them, includes Aguazul - Yopal, among which the construction of a second road stands out. As well as the construction of intersections, bridges, hydraulic works and the improvement of the existing roads in those sections.
