Ministry of Port and Airports and the National Waterway and transport agency (ANTAQ) has auctioned 4 port projects for some BRL208 million (US$41.7 million) in Brazil.

These sites are situated across different states: Rio Grande do Sul (POA01), Alagoas (MAC11A, MAC11, MAC12), and Ceará (TMP). The trio of terminals in Alagoas and Rio Grande do Sul have been primarily configured to facilitate the handling and storage of solid bulk commodities and liquid bulk materials, particularly focusing on fuel and oil. Meanwhile, the Fortaleza-based terminal, named Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros (TMP) and situated within the Organized Port of Mucuripe, is dedicated to passenger movement and entertainment functions.

The purpose of these auctions is to identify the most financially advantageous proposal, gauged by the highest grant value. The selected proposal will subsequently lead to the signing of a lease agreement for public areas and infrastructure within the organized public ports.
