The National Government, through the Ministry of Transportation, headed by the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), has delivered 35.6 km as part of the Santana-Mocoa-Neiva 4G infrastructure project in Colombia.

With an investment of US$303,347 million in functional unit 3, the project includes a 5-km-long, bidirectional Gigante variant. A key feature is the construction of three viaducts, notably the 206-m-long Gigante 3 bridge, which reaches a height of 35 m, marking a significant achievement for the region. The project also includes the construction of three crossings to rural roads and two roundabouts in the northern and southern sectors, connecting with National Route 45.

The works of this project are key to improving connectivity and mobility within the country with Ecuador, through the department of Putumayo, reducing the journey from Bogotá to Quito from 26 to 20 hours. This initiative has an investment of US$2.19 billion and a total length of 456 km. It is made up of seven functional units and has an executed progress of 49.10%. The project includes the construction of a new road between the city of Neiva and the municipality of Campoalegre, the construction of seven bypasses in the municipalities of Campoalegre, Hobo, Gigante, and Timaná in the department of Huila, and Mocoa, Villagarzón and Puerto Caicedo in the department of Putumayo, as well as the rehabilitation of all 456 km that make up the road corridor.
