15 companies interested for 5G concession in Brazil

The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) in Brazil has received interest from 15 companies or consortiums for the 5G concession. Under the concession, the authority is planning to auction frequencies of 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26 GHz spectrum to be used for 5G infrastructure in the nation. 

The interested companies are following:

  6. 5G SOUTH CONSORTIUM
  7. Fly Link Ltd
  8. MEGA NET PROVEDOR DE INTERNET E COMERCIO DE INFORMÃTICA LTDA
  9. NEKO Communications Services Entertainment and Education Ltda
  10. NK 108 Empreendimentos e Participações SA
  11. SERCOMTEL TELECOMUNICAÇÕES SA
  12. Telefonica Brasil SA
  13. TIM SA
  14. VDF TECNOLOGIA DA INFORMAÇÃO LTDA
  15. Winity II Telecom Ltda

The authority has scheduled the opening and analysis of the documentation for November 04, 2021. The concession is valued at BRL50 billion (US$8.80 billion). The private companies are expected to start implementing the project between 2022 and 2029.
