The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) announced that the Sierra Longitudinal Highway Project Section 4 has generated the interest of 13 companies and consortia of local origin, in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
This initiative, led by PROINVERSIÓN on behalf of the Ministry of Transport & Communication (MTC), is a co-financed state project. It involves the concession delivery of approximately 900 km connecting Junín, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac, and Ica regions. The allocation includes 627 km for initial periodic maintenance, 180 km for rehabilitation and improvement, and 5 km for construction. The estimated investment is around US$914 million, and the concession period spans 25 years.
Interested parties can submit prequalification documents (Envelope No. 1) until February 29, 2024. Following this, the final list of prequalified entities will be announced, allowing them to submit their technical (Envelope No. 2) and economic (Envelope No. 3) proposals. To qualify, companies must demonstrate a 10-year track record of operating at least 100 km of roads, maintain a minimum equity of US$131 million, provide legalized copies of the bidder's founding document, and have no sanctions from the Peruvian State. The project is anticipated to be awarded in the First Semester of 2024.
