Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced that Thirteen firms have submitted bids for the civil construction of a new terminal building at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Airport in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The recently designed terminal building, covering an area of 34,346 sq. m., is intended to accommodate 1400 passengers during peak hours. It will have 4 aerobridges, 32 check-in counters, and 3 baggage claim belts. The apron is set to undergo expansion to facilitate up to 9 narrow-body aircraft, such as B737 and A320. This project, situated at the Indian Air Force's Agra Station in Kheria, involves the enlargement of its civil enclave. In September 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government sanctioned INR 1.23 billion (US$ 14.8 million) for the acquisition of 92.50 acres in three villages—Dhanauli, Abhaypura, and Balhaira—for development. AAI issued tenders for the terminal's civil construction contract in December 2023, estimating INR 4.4 billion (US$ 53 million) for the project and setting a completion deadline of 2 years. The initiative focuses on the development of a New Civil Enclave at Agra Airport, specifically on the Construction of the New Integrated Terminal Building and Allied Works using the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Mode.
