Wood Group won USD200 million petrochemical projects in Uzbekistan

The Wood Group Plc. has announced that it has received two contracts from Enter Engineering with a combined value of over US$200 million to deliver petrochemical projects in Uzbekistan. 

Under the first contract Wood Plc will be responsible to deliver the full engineering scope, including FEED and detailed design for a MOF-3 copper-concentration complex, located in the city of Almalyk whereas the second contract involves detailed engineering and procurement assistance services for the construction of a new methanol-to-olefin (MTO) based gas-chemical complex, located in the Bukhara region.

The complex task scope entails the delivery of five process units, including polypropylene, mono-ethylene glycol, low-density polyethylene, and methanol to olefin. A customized digital strategy will also be created to integrate the control systems of the entire complex.

    This week Masdar has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate a 500-megawatt utility-scale wind farm project. The total project cost is 825 million in US dollars and the project will be directly fully funded by the investor.
