The Vienna hospital Association (Wiener Krankenanstaltenverbund) has announced that the tender process for the development of the Model Radiation Oncology KHR SZO, to be developed through PPP at the Hietzing Hospital in Vienna, has been awarded to VAMED, a Vienna-based company which covers overall implementation models, construction, and the efficient operation of health care facilities.
The Vienna hospital Association has revealed the winner of the process after re-launching the tender process last summer in July.
The final value of the PPP contract is EUR158.6 million (US$182.2 million). The project involves the development, finance and maintenance of the new facility, including the supply of medical equipment, for a period of 25 years. More specifically the object of the contract involves the following aspects:
Standort Krankenhaus Hietzing (KHR) hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Vienna. It offers 20 medical departments and seven institutes. The hospital counts with several important units: the centre for diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases, a department which focuses on the treatment of diabetes-associated diseases and renal problems, as well as the "Heart and Vascular Center". Moreover the Hietzing hospital is well known for its expertise in treatment of strokes and epilepsy with its Neurology Centre.
