Warwick District Council seeks regeneration partner

The Warwick District Council (UK) has launched a tender process to seek regeneration partner.

The Council is seeking to regenerate and develop a Creative Quarter based around the creative cultural and digital industries in Leamington Spa town centre. The regeneration partner will design, develop and deliver the Creative Quarter.

The council is hoping that the regeneration programme will see the restoration of several key buildings, radically improve the transport routes and environment from the railway station to the town centre and also create a much-improved gateway to the town.

The development site is situated in the Old Town part of the town centre. The Council is not seeking to stipulate the precise boundaries of the development site. This is specifically to promote flexibility in the invited development proposals. Prospective developer partners are therefore encouraged to consider an expanded site area for comprehensive consideration, to secure the best scheme meeting the Council’s overall objectives to create a new Creative Quarter.

The Procurement process will be based on competitive dialogue process, with a combined selection and outline tender stage. The Authority intends to shortlist a minimum of 3 preferred bidders and maximum of 5 to invite to the first dialogue stage.

The approximate investment for the project is £30 million (US$37 million) and the duration of the contract wil be 15 years.

The deadline for submitting proposals is January, 9 2017.
