Olympia Odos, a 29.9% subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, has signed a contract to extend Olympia Odos Highway PPP project that connects Athens to Corinth and Patras in Greece. The contract involves the extension of the motorway over a distance of 75 km to the town of Pyrgos, located to the west of the Peloponnese peninsula.
VINCI Concessions and its partners will be responsible for the design, financing and construction of this new section, then for its operation until 2044. The concessionaire will be remunerated by collecting a toll.
The extension project has an investment of EUR331 million (USD364.39 million) and is part of the trans-European road transport network, a European Union program that intends at facilitating exchanges and the interoperability of transport infrastructures in Europe.
