Vinci Concessions signs Martinique public transport PPP

Martinique's public transportation company, SMTCSP, and Caraibus SAS, an entity linked to Vinci Concessions,  signed on Friday  November 22th the PPP contract for the design, build, finance, maintain and operate (DBFMO) of a public transport system in the island of Martinique.

The PPP project involves:

  • construction of 18 stations of the system,
  • construction of two intermododal stations in Carrer and Mahault,
  • construction of a maintenance center, and
  • the development of the line Carrer - airport -Mahault.

The rolling stock fleet will consist of 14 Bus Rapid Transit vehicles (BRT). This fleet can carry a maximum of 2,800 passengers in peak time and is expected to give a service of 38,500 passengers per day.

The project requires an estimated investment of €98 million. Project financing will come from:

  • SMTCSP: €18.4 million,
  • Frecng agency for development (AFD) and Caisses des dépôts: €74.6 million,
  • Sponsors' Equity: €5.6 million

    VINCI acquires 16.67% stake in Cofiroute from Colas

    Colas (partially owned by Bouygues) and VINCI Autoroutes have reached an agreement whereby Colas is to sell its 16.67% stake in Cofiroute to VINCI Autoroutes. The transaction is priced between a minimum of €780 million and a maximum of €800 million, subject to certain operational assumptions being realised over the 2014-2015 period.
