Webuild has announced that its subsidiary, Cossi Costruzioni has won a EUR284 million (US$306 million) contract to build a section (Lot 1: Part 1-2) of the Pedemontana Piemontese highway in northern Italy. The contract is commissioned by ANAS of Gruppo FS Italiane.
The project involves the construction of a 15-km highway with 2 lanes in both directions between the towns of Masserano and Ghemme in the Piedmont region, Italy. The work will include 6 viaducts and 6 overpasses with a total length of 1.5 km. The project will improve transport links by creating a link between the cities of Santia, Biella and Gattinara next to the A4 Torino-Milan highway and the city of Gemme next to the A26 Genoa Voltri-Gravellona-Toce highway.
Work on the project will create 200 direct and indirect jobs.
