Webuild has announced that Lane, the U.S. subsidiary of the Webuild Group, has won a EUR94 million (US$103 million) contract for the design and partial reconstruction of the interchange at the Interstate 4 (I-4) highway and the Apopka–Vineland Road (State Road 535) in Orange County, Florida, USA.
The contract includes rebuilding the I-4 westbound ramp from Apopka-Vineland South Road, constructing a new loop ramp from the northbound road to I-4 westbound, extending the westbound I-4 ramp to Apopka-Vineland Road and refurbishing roads. The interchange is the main point of access to Walt Disney World, hotels, malls and resorts in the area and serves over 150,000 vehicles per day. Lane will use recycled asphalt, concrete and steel in the process.
The construction of the project is scheduled to start in 2024 after the design phase is completed.
