Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced that it has awarded US$264 million contract to Webber, U.S. construction subsidiary of Ferrovial to expand three Texas roadways in USA.
The first project involves the 5.6 miles of main lane extension and frontage road construction of SL 335 roadway in Amarillo District, Texas. Construction will begin in June 2023 and be completed at the end of 2026. The second project involves the broadening of 6.5 miles of the main lane of SH 99 roadway in Houston District, from West Park Tollway to IH-10 in Katy, Texas, USA. The project will be completed in mid-2025. The project also includes the expansion of numerous bridges. The third project involves the broadening of SL 378 roadway in San Angelo District, Texas, USA. The project includes reconstructing 2 miles of the road to make room for a new, continuous center lane that will assist in alleviating traffic congestion. Construction will begin in August and be completed by 2026.
All three projects are strengthening their presence in Texas and the US in a common, strategically important market for the company.
