Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA), in partnership with the Ontario government, have awarded a fixed-price contract of CAD1.8 billion (US$1.3 billion) to Pomerleau Health Partners to design, build and finance the WAHA Redevelopment Project in Canada.

The WAHA redevelopment project involves the construction of a new regional hospital, Elder Care Lodge, visitor hostel and staff accommodations in Moosonee and a new Ambulatory Care Centre on Moose Factory Island. The new regional health campus will enhance WAHA's health promotion, primary care services, and access to healthcare in Moosonee, Moose Factory Island, and Ontario's James Bay Coast. This project is being developed using a Progressive DBF model.
