The government of Uruguay has launched a marked consultation for a school PPP project, which is part of a bigger program.
The first call includes the development of 44 kindergartens and 15 family and childhood centers (Centros de Atención a la Infancia y la Familia, CAIF).
The project is scheduled to be published in November 2016. The tender process will have a period of five months for submission of bids, four months for provisional ward and six months for final award.
The concession contract will run for 20 years.
The obligations of the contractors will include design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of the social infrastructure.
The second call will be published in March 2017, according to sources.

In late June we informed about Uruguay's government plans to launch a tender process for the development of more than 200 schools through the public private partnership (PPP) model.
More concretely, the tender process would involve the development of 165 schools for the National Public Education Administration (ANEP). The new schools would be located in the following areas:
Additionally the project also involves the development of 60 schools for the Institute of Child and Adolescent of Uruguay (INAU).
The total program investment is estimated at US$432 million.
