Update 1: Four teams shortlisted for Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant PPP project
The PPP Unit of Egypt has released the official list of teams shortlisted for the Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant PPP project.
The shortlisted teams are the following:
- UAE-headquartered Metito Overseas Limited, subsidiary of Gulf Capital, PWT (Turkey) and Germany's HOCHTIEF.
- Orascom Construction Industries, Spain's Aqualia Gestion Integral del Agua, France's Veolia Water and I-Cat (Egypt).
- Degremont (France).
- Kharafi National
According to a local newspaper the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the Commercial International Bank (CIB) and the Banque Misr approved to finance the Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant PPP project in a meeting with the Egyptian Ministry of Finance weeks ago.
The plant has a construction cost of EGP 5 billion (US$752 million).
The deadline for submissions of pre-qualification documents had been extended until Sunday - March 17th, 2013.
The project involves the Design, financing, raising capacity of existing primary treatment plant from 1.2 million m3/day to 1.6 million m3/day and construction of a secondary treatment stage for the Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the operation and maintenance of the whole plant with a capacity of 1.6 million m3/day.
