Yesterday, 8 August 2012, the Uk Trade & Investment Office organized an UK Infrastructure Summit at Lancaster to bring together business leaders from across the world to debate emerging trends, examine best practice and identify opportunities across infrastructure sectors - Construction, Water, Airports and Rail.
The sessions focused on large scale urban regeneration projects, looking at sustainability in design, operation and equipment provision, and high-value opportunities in high-growth markets.

Carillion wins 335 million royal Liverpool hospital PFI
Carillion has been selected by the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust to deliver the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital Public Private Partnership (PPP) project.
Hermes GPE Infrastructure Fund acquires 50 % stake in Scottish wind farm
Centrica plc has reached an agreement to sell its 50% interest in the 72MW Braes of Doune onshore wind farm in Stirlingshire, Scotland, for £59 million in cash. The stake has been acquired by the Hermes GPE Infrastructure Fund, which is managed by Hermes GPE LLP. Centrica will continue to receive 100% of the wind farm's output under a power purchase agreement (PPA).

Merseylink preferred bidder for Mersey Birdge PFI project
Margaret Bonsall to lead public investments in PF2 projects in the UK
The UK Government announced on June 21st, 2013, that a new unit has been set up within the UK Treasury to represent the public sector on the boards of new PF2 projects and manage its future stake in public infrastructure including schools and hospitals.

PIN published for new General Hospital for Dumfries and Galloway DBFM in the UK
NHS Dumfries and Galloway are seeking a Private Sector Partner to participate and invest in a new District General Hospital. The Project will involve the design, build, finance and maintenance of a new District General Hospital with an estimated cost range of GBP 180-200 million.
