Uganda has announced it has launched a tender process to seek transaction advisors for a housing PPP project.
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has allocated funds to be used for the acquisition of the consultancy services for the project, which involves the construction of housing accommodation for UPDF (Uganda People’s Defence Forces) personnel, chief’s office block and redevelopment of Acacia Mess through Public Private Partnership (PPP) Arrangements.
The MOD wishes to involve the Private Sector in the construction of 30,000 housing units for UPDF personnel. The proposed projects are aimed at improving the welfare of the soldiers.
The private sector participation will include the financing, design and construction of these facilities.
Expressions of Interest must be delivered before February, 4.
Uganda’s Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija, and Gabriel Negatu, East Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office Director General, signed African Development Bank and African Development Fund loan agreements of US$151 million for the Multinational Uganda-Rwanda Busega-Mpigi express highway project.
