Two teams seek qualification for Croatian motorway concession - reports

According to local sources, two groups could have submitted qualification documents for the concession of Croatian motorway network. The motorway concession will include Bregana - Zagreb - Lipovac, Zagreb - Split - Ravca, Zagreb - Rijeka, and Zagreb - Gorican motorways.

Croatia's transport ministry was quoted by local newspapers saying that further details will be announced only after the receipt and official unsealing of the final offers. He added that the next step would be to shortlist candidates that will be invited to submit indicative offers.

According to the mentioned sources, the two groups could include:

The motorways could be leased for a period of between 30 and 50 years with the government in Zagreb eyeing a one-off payment of around €3.0 billion ($4.1 billion). The duration of the concession is still not clear and it would be determined by mid-2014.

The indicative offers were offered on December 15th.

Erste Group from Vienna, together with Deloitte and Wolf Theiss Rechtsanwalte are advising the Government of Croatia on the project.
