Two teams bid for Aragon wastewater PPP project

The Aragon Water Institute has published that two teams have bid for a PPP wastewater project in region of Aragon in Spain.

The wastewater project involves the design, build, finance and operation of five small wastewater treatment plants in the towns of Beceite, Cretas, La Fresneda, Peñarroya de Tastavins y Valderrobres

The estimated investment of the project is €45 million euros (US$ 61 million).

The completion period is estimated at 21 years and 10 months. Twenty months correspond to the design and construction work, and 20 years to the operation of the service.

The two teams that have bid for the project are:

  • Agricultores de la vega de Valencia, Depuración de aguas del mediterraneo S.L., ACYC Obras y servicios S.L.U, Pavasal empresa constructora S.A, and Pavagua ambiental S.L
  • Idecom S.A.U, and Asteisa tratamiento de aguas S.A.U (Ortiz Group).

This contract had been awarded on August 5th 2008, to the team of Copisa Constructora Pirenaica SA-Copisa Proyectos and Mantenimientos Industriales SL. However, that contract was cancelled on September 26, 2012 due to financing problems.
