Last week, after the last deadline for the prequalified consortiums, Metro de Bogotá and Apca Transmimetro consortiums, have submitted their financial offers and legal package to the Bogotá Metro Company for the Bogotá Metro Line 1 PPP project.
7 consortiums in total participated in the tender, which was launched on April 3, 2018. 5 consortiums were shortlisted, and only two submitted the final offer. Thus the choice will be made between Metro de Bogotá and Apca Transmimetro consortiums. The award is scheduled for October 21.
The Bogotá Metro Consortium is made up of the FCC Concessions and Infrastructure, Carso Infraestructura y Construcción, Alstom, Metropolitan Railway of Barcelona and Promoter of the Development of Latin America.
Apca Transmimetro Consortium includes China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. and Xi‘an Metro.
The first line of the Bogotá Metro will measure 23.9 kilometers and will cross the city from the west to Calle 72, in the northern sector, in 27 minutes. 1,050,000 people are expected to move during the day.
It was decided that the metro will be elevated, as the budget corresponded better to such design.
The winner must make the detailed designs, partially finance the project, build the viaduct and the stations, reconfigure the road corridors along the route, move the minor networks of public services, adapt and repair traffic diversions during the work, Perform social and environmental management, supply trains and other equipment and, for the next 20 years, operate and maintain the system.
The construction of the project will begin in April 2020 and the metro is expected to be operational in 2025.
