Two Mexican companies have submitted final economic bids to Honduras' public-private promotion agency, Coalianza, to develop the Government civic center PPP project.
Five consortia were in the competitive process in a first stage but then only Constructora y Edificadora GIA+A (GIA), and a team composed of Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana and Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana de Infraestructura, submitted final bids.
The Government was expected to award the concession on Dec. 22 according to a press release but no information has been released on Coalianza's website.
The project will centralize Honduras government's offices. It involves the development of two spaces to achieve approximately 100,000 m² of offices. These two spaces are:
The PPP building project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The total project investment is estimated at US$200 million.
The project aims to: improve efficiency, through the provision of adequate infrastructure for proper office operations; reduce and control public spending; streamline and strengthen the housing market, generating areas of value and improve operational efficiency by implementing mechanisms of efficiency and sustainability in public services.
