Two groups remain for Chicago Midway airport lease chicago-midway-airport-250 Chicago Midway Airport

Bloomberg has informed that two groups remain in the fight to get Chicago's Midway International Airport:

The first consortium operates London's Heathrow, Brussels Airport and Copenhagen Airport, among others. The second consortium has interests in Melbourne Airport, Brisbane Airport, Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport, among others.

The invitation for prequalification was published on January 18th, 2013. Six teams had been pre-qualified for a potential lease of the airport.

The 40-year contract for the smaller airport in the third-biggest U.S. city could be valued at $2 billion. Final bids, which were due to be submitted next month, may be delayed until September.
