Two bidders shortlisted for Greek water privatization Two bidders have been shortlisted for the privatization of a 51 % stake in Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewerage Company S.A.(EYATH):
  • SUEZ Environment SAS - AKTOR CONCESSIONS S.A.
  • MEKOROT Development and Enterprise Ltd - G. APOSTOLOPOULOS S.A. Holdings - MIYA Water Projects Netherlands BV - ΤΕΡÎ?Α ENERGY S.A

Two other bidders, the Greek-Russian businessman Ivan Savvides and Movement 136, a citizens' initiative, were not qualified for final bids.

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund S.A., 100% owned by the Hellenic Republic (HR), has undertaken the privatization of assets owned directly and indirectly by the HR, as part of  Mid-Term Fiscal Strategy 2012-2015.

The privatisation of the joint stock company "Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewerage Company S.A." (EYATH) is one of the assets to be sold. The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund S.A. currently owns 74.017% of ΕΥΑΤΗ. The shares of EYATH are listed on the Athens Exchange (ATHEX).

At a meeting held on 13.02.2013 Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund S.A. decided to sell a stake in EYATH corresponding to 51% of the total share capital through an international public competitive tender process .

EYATH will enter into an amended Concession Agreement with the winning bidder.
