Turner & Townsend bolsters presence in Latin America

Turner & Townsend has announced that in response to continued growth of the business in Latin America over the past 14 years, the firm is opening two new offices in Rio de Janeiro and Bogota. In addition, Turner & Townsend are bolstering the regional team with a new appointment and 11 internal promotions.

Reflecting half a decade of sustained growth in Brazil, the new office in Rio de Janeiro joins the existing office in São Paulo as a full business hub, providing programme, project and cost management services across the property, infrastructure and natural resources sectors. In addition, the Belo Horizonte team will continue its focus on servicing clients in the natural resources sector, as it builds its property and infrastructure client portfolio.

The press release published by Turner & Townsend said:

"Colombia's buoyant economy and open market policies have prompted us to open our inaugural office in Bogota. This new office, combined with its major offices in Santiago and Lima, strengthens our presence in the Andean region. Local clients will gain access to a global network of experts while international clients can capitalise on local expertise in delivering projects and programmes in this dynamic region."

The firm has also made key promotions and additions to the management team:

Jacquelina Dankfort joins as project management Director for Brazil. Bringing with her 15 years' experience across the continent, she will coordinate the project management division in the property sector and support the development opportunities in infrastructure and public private partnerships (PPPs).

Jonas Nitschack has been appointed as natural resources Director in Latin America and will focus on major accounts in mining and oil and gas sectors across the region. He will be based in the Rio de Janeiro office.

Robert Edwards, Managing Director, Latin America commented:

"We have grown our presence in Latin America since the millennium and continue to respond to shifting client needs and market conditions across the region.

"This is reflected in the structure of our team, which continues to evolve and grow. Our increased presence will reinforce our capability to service global clients in the region, while ensuring that local clients gain access to a global network of experts.

"Jacquelina is a valuable new asset to the team. She joins us with exceptional project management experience and will be vital in strengthening our service to an expanding client base across the property sector in Brazil.

"Jonas has been working with us since 2002 and this internal promotion is a deserved reward for his depth of knowledge of his sector and loyalty to us, consistently delivering impeccable results."
